Three manor surveys of Rochdale were undertaken in the first half of the 17th. Century. They contain much of interest to the archaeologist and historian, particularly in tracing medieval landholding and its development over time.
The 1610 survey was never published, but a typed transcript with hand written additions can be found here.
The 1626 Manor survey was published by the Chetham Society in 1913 and edited by Fishwick. This has a wealth of historical information.
